When a Hong Kong nuclear plant goes into meltdown after its security is penetrated, Chinese army cybersecurity captain Chen Dawai (Leehom Wang, Lust, Caution) offers his old college roommate a deal: help identify and apprehend the culprit in exchange for his own freedom. What follows is a frenetic, globe-trotting race against time to avert disaster, fraught with hidden agendas and ever-shifting loyalties.

We Are No Longer in Control...
This edition by Arrow Video is just wonderful. While "Blackhat" may not be as well-regarded as Michael Mann's classic movies, there is much to enjoy here. I have always felt the film is underrated and perhaps due for reappraisal. Arrow has produced an excellent edition here, with three cuts of the film. I just watched the "Director's Cut", which I think could become my favourite version. The idea expressed in the film that there are human forces outside of governments, corporations, and intelligence agencies that can manipulate our world ("We Are No Longer in Control") is very relevant to our times.
