'The Battle of Algiers' tells the story of the life-and-death struggle between the French colonial government of Algeria and the Algerian Liberation Front, the FLN, who wanted the French out and were willing to set off bombs to do it. Battle of Algiers
An excellent and very realistic semi - documentary film which grabs your attention from start to finish without taking any political bias on the Algerian fight for independence from France. The Blu Ray conversion is brilliant and the extra's on the disc are very informative about the making of the film.

Great film
This is a really masterpiece. It is a movie that greatly catches the atmosphere and realities of the urban guerillas. It is also exceptional that it doesn’t take sides, both Algerians and French are seen to do horrendous deeds and you can also understand positions of both sides. The movie is also very entertaining and very well acted. Very highly recommended.
