4K quality bursts out of the screen
5The visual quality of this film that was initially released over 40 years ago is incredible. I'd highly recommend showing this to someone who hasn't experienced 4k before. The Steelbook packaging is great & shows some of H.R. Giger's iconic designs really nicely. Definitely pick this up before it sells out!

Alien 40th anniversary 4k blu ray
4Maybe the best sci fi ever made. Picture quality is as expected, a good enough upgrade from the 1080p blu ray, some scenes look fantastic, others a tad soft. I'd probably give it 3.5 /5. Shocking that no atmos. /dts ☓ and also no digital download included (as is the way now in the UK) The Steelbook itself is very nice, great job imo. Definitely worth a double dip for a fan of the franchise.

Old Blu ray new case
4The steelbook itself is pretty nice but that’s it, no art cards like the standard release which is disappointing and no new extras.

Alien 4k
5Probably my favourite horror film of all time, I was s eptical about a 40 year old film being upgraded to 4k, but, i was pleasantly surprised. Brilliant deep black space scenes and the 'Alien' itself looks remarkable. There are a few scenes with slight pixelation but not enough to spoil the film, it took me back 40 years to when I was 8 years old and I did feel the same fright again. Shame the audio wasn't upgraded to DTS X or Atmos, but, my AV Receiver does a good job of using all my speakers. This is a brilliant addition to my 4k collection.

3Considering it’s a 4k film I was highly disappointed with the quality of the picture. Unless it’s a faulty disc, but it was no better than a DVD . Very disappointed as I love Alien and Aliens
