Outrageous
4This is a difficult movie to watch. 43 years after it originally came out & A Clockwork Orange can be easily conceived as a test to your tolerance. Based on the book of the same name by Anthony Burgess, the story tells of a misfit gang on young thugs who practically go on a rampage throughout soceity and tear every fibre of order you can handle. With this movie having been directed by controversial director Stanley Kubrick, one can expect to see a movie just as controversial. Kubrick may ot always come across as the most understood movie maker of his time but something he said once to John Boorman, director of the Exorcist 2 kind of best explains his actions behind this movie. Nobody wants to see a movie that makes them feel good. In essence, this movie will not make you feel much other than shock, anger & a little disturbed. It is brutal, violent, demeaning to women & oddly watchable on a very crazy level. I cannot rate this a 5 star treatment despite many who will disagree with me, however i can also not deny that this was a daring movie for a daring director and so deserves at least a 4 star rating. Accompanied by a nice steelbook edition too.

5A well made embossed matte steelbook. Fits perfectly with the other Kubrick steelbooks for The Shining and Full Metal Jacket. Worth every penny.

5After it's 1971 original release a clockwork orange was withdrawn from uk cinemas .... Unusually by its own director Stanley Kubrick as copycat gangs dressed as the droogs featured in the film were responsible for many acts of violence. Kubrick recieved death threats and pulled the plug on his own movie. After his death in the late 1990's Kubricks wife gave permission for the film to be released. The film itself is an absolute masterpiece . Funny, violent, weird and a movie that stands the test of time. Malcolm McDowell gives the performance of his career as Alex, leader of the droogs whose principle interest's are rape, ultra violence and Beethoven. This steelbook edition is a must have and has good extras. Get it before stocks run out. Zavvis best steel book release to date. Enjoy.

A dystopian classic
5Only Stanley Kubrick can take a novel as controversial as A Clockwork Orange and make a modern masterpiece, and he did so brilliantly by making a beautifully shot dystopian thriller which works more as an analysis of modern society and our attitude towards crime. A great film with McDowells greatest performance as he sings, tap dances and rampages his way through the film. Chaos vs Order at its finest.
