A film director (a magnificent Marcello Mastroianni) is struggling to find the creativity required to deliver his next movie and consequently is being hassled by industry figures as well as his wife (Anouk Aimée) and his mistress (Sandra Milo). In order to escape his tormentors, the director retreats into a world of memories, dreams and fantasies. Classic Fellini
Considered Fellini's masterpiece, "8 1/2" is beautifully presented in this first rate blu ray by Cinema Classics. Marcello Mastroianni is the director struggling with creative block, wife, mistress and producers as he tries to make his new film. "8 1/2" has been aped and parodied by other filmmakers, including Woody Allen in the opening of his "Stardust Memories", and remains Fellini's masterpiece. This highly recommended blu ray includes a 50min making of documentary as well as other excellent special features. The transfer is first rate and certainly on a par with the more expensive Criterion Collection release.
