The future is history
Following the commercial and critical success of The Fisher King, Terry Gilliam next feature would turn to science fiction and a screenplay by Janet and David Peoples (Blade Runner, Unforgiven) inspired by Chris Marker's classic short film La Jetée.
In 1996, a deadly virus is unleashed by a group calling themselves the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, destroying much of the world's population and forcing survivors underground. In 2035, prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis, Die Hard) is chosen to go back in time and help scientists in their search for a cure.
Featuring an Oscar-nominated turn by Brad Pitt (Fight Club) as mental patient Jeffrey Goines, Twelve Monkeys would become Gilliam's most successful film and is now widely regarded as a sci-fi classic. Arrow Films are proud to present the film in a stunning new restoration.

Futures Past
I original saw 12 Monkeys at the cinema in 1995. It is a film that succeeds in paying homage to Chris Markers film La Jetee. The image transfer is great and a huge upgrade to previous dvd and blu Ray releases. The film is well constructed, with greats performances from Willis and Pitt. This release of 12 Monkeys is highly recommended.

Twelve Monkeys
There's not enough words to describe this movie. Its intriguing, original, interesting, breathtaking, shocking and authentic. With a very peculiar story that involves time travel and some concepts of life and with a 100% convincing and very well developed plot. The cinematography and camera work is amazing, it has a very trippy feel to it, and the acting from all of the characters is unbelievable, they embody their characters so well, especially Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. And Terry Gilliam's direction is perfect, his style and personality is everywhere in this movie. I was very impressed with transfer it looked like 4k scan was really clean and amazing to look on a big smart TV. Not to mention a loads of special features for Arrow Video release it was a breathtaking experience to learn more about movie and behind the scenes. I fully recommend this movie! My rating 10 out of 10.

90s sci-fi gem
A near-perfect science fiction film that has an entirely engrossing plot despite the narrative having a couple of missteps all the while featuring a superb cast and having a distinctly great visual aesthetic to it. The plot is also well-paced, has really good cinematography, has a decent score, the script easily manages to handle all the different genres and themes that are present without ever feeling shallow in either area and I love the finale as the plot comes to a riveting, revealing and rather downbeat but nonetheless satisfying conclusion.
