This article contains spoilers for WandaVision.WandaVision has been a thrill to watch over the past weeks but all good things must come to an end, and so the finale aired today.

Kicking off with two epic battles as Wanda took on Agatha and Vision fought white Vision, the action then slowed down as Wanda came to accept the damage she was doing in Westview and the death of her beloved Vis.

The two were finally given the chance to properly say goodbye to each other before she lifted the Hex, releasing the residents of Westview from her spell leaving Wanda standing alone in the empty plot of land Vision had purchased.

Stripped back focusing on Wanda, it was the perfect ending to an emotional story which has been all about grief and trauma.

Now Wanda has accepted Vision's death she can now start on pastures new, especially since she has also transformed into the Scarlet Witch.

After taking one last look at Westview, Wanda shot off into the sky leaving us wondering where she will go next on her journey as her story is certainly not over yet - in fact, in many ways, it's only just beginning.

A mysterious post-credits scene teases what we could expect from Wanda in the future, but before that Marvel also gave us a cheeky mid-credits sequence focusing on Monica Rambeau.

The Mid-Credits Scene

Marvel Studios

Bad-ass Monica Rambeau has been a major part of WandaVision and it is clear this will continue in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with a mid-credits scene teasing her next adventure.

The scene sees Monica be approached by an unknown agent who tells her that she is needed in the Westview theatre.

Once inside the empty theatre away from prying eyes, the agent then reveals herself to be a Skrull (of course) who informs Monica that she has been sent by "an old friend of your mother's" who wants to see her.

Asking where, the Skrull then points upwards suggesting Monica will next be heading to space. Exciting!

Marvel Studios

This "old friend" is likely to be Nick Fury who we know from the events of Captain Marvel was friendly with Monica's mother Maria, and as revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home, he's currently onboard a space station with Skrulls.

It appears then Monica will be joining Fury and so she's likely going to play a role in the upcoming Secret Invasion show which will also air on Disney+.

The series will follow Fury and Skrull Talos, and now presumably Monica too, as they investigate a group of Skrulls who have infiltrated the highest levels of authority - so quite literally exposing a 'secret invasion' then.

It's important to note that Monica has been confirmed to appear in Captain Marvel 2 so Marvel Studios clearly have plans for the character - which is great as she's awesome!

The Post-Credits Scene

Marvel Studios

The scene which came right at the end of the credits was much more cryptic, showing that Wanda has moved to a remote cabin in the mountains. Boiling her kettle, Wanda seems to be living a simple life alone with, may I say, great sweatpants game!

As the camera moves into her home though it's revealed that it's not quite that simple, as a final reveal shows an astral projection of the Scarlet Witch reading Agatha Harkness' Darkhold book.

Her eyes lit up red, the scene cuts away as Wanda's children Tommy and Billy start screaming, calling out for their mother to help. Haunting.

All of which makes us ask the question, is Wanda going to do something dangerous in an attempt to bring her boys back?

Marvel Studios

The Darkhold is the book of magic Agatha told us about in the finale, better known as either the Book Of Sins or the Book Of The Damned. So yeah, the fact that Wanda is studying it isn't the best of signs.

It's unclear whether the screaming from the boys is a memory or coming from another version of them or if it's in Wanda's head, but what seems to be certain is that she is trying to figure out a way to bring them back using magic.

We know that Wanda will be a major part of the upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness so there's the potential this screaming is coming from another Tommy and Billy in the multiverse, with Wanda maybe opening it up which leads to the events of the sequel.

The way this scene is set up with Wanda walking around and a projection of herself studying a book is very Strange like, and so it's hinting at the connection.

Marvel Studios

It's not just the fact that Wanda seems to be wanting to bring her children back that is worrying, as it is known that the Darkhold corrupts the minds of its readers, so she really needs to be careful.

Although we can't be certain what this scene means, it does indeed spell trouble ahead which will likely be addressed in Multiverse Of Madness - maybe Strange will be trying to get the world back to normal after Wanda opens up the multiverse causing chaos.

And for all you Mephisto fans out there, whilst he didn't pop up in WandaVision the comics villain is known for collecting souls so there is the potential he has hold of the ones of Tommy and Billy, which would also explain why they are screaming for help.

Only time will tell what is in store for our new Scarlet Witch though!
