Remember Jumanji? The 1995 adventure movie is now a hair over 20 years old, which means that it's prime time for a reboot. The new Jumanji reboot seems to be ditching some of the core roots of the original and seems to be striving to be something completely new. The reboot, titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Junglestars an ensemble cast, with The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas all in leading roles.
It turns out that our core cast is not who they seem to be. Instead of being based on a board game, the premise of this Jumanji reboot has four teenagers being sucked into a video game and taking the bodies of the aforementioned stars. This more unusual body-swapping plot is both new and fresh and makes us a tad more excited that this reinvigoration of the series is due to go in a new direction than just remaking the original movie.

While there's no trailer for the film yet, it's due to land in cinemas in December, which means that it'll be going head-to-head against Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. This sort of box-office competition is going to be heated, and Jumanji will have its work cut out for it if it wants to go up against the biggest Hollywood franchise in history. We're expecting to see a trailer within the next few weeks and can't wait to get another look at what a modern Jumanji movie looks like. From its cast to not just simply cashing in on 90's nostalgia, which has been so popular in cinemas this year.
From Power Rangers to Beauty and the Beast and most recently, Ghost in the Shell. 90's Reboot fever is in full swing, and we can count on one finger what iconic franchises are left to reboot.
