We're less than a week away from the third season of The Mandalorian arriving on our screens and we might not have as long of a wait for the show's return after this.

The hit Star Wars show's creator Jon Favreau has confirmed in an interview with French news outlet BFM TV (translated by Variety) that scripts for the fourth season have already been written.

At last year's Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, Favreau previously confirmed that he was already working on the next season, teasing that it will heavily be informed by the upcoming Ahsoka series.

But now we have had confirmation that the scripts have been written, with Favreau revealing that he completed them during post-production on the third season, which premieres on Disney+ this coming Wednesday (1st March).

He said this was vital in order to build a "framework" to ensure it remains linked to the other upcoming Star Wars series set during the same part of the timeline, including Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka spin-off and Jude Law vehicle Skeleton Crew.

He explained: “Season 4, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story.

"We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni, Executive Producer] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.

“There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well.”

We'll find out more about where the franchise will go next when we return to the galaxy far, far away next week. After that, Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ later in 2023.
