Oh dear.... I just couldn't take this seriously I'm afraid, although it's not the worst 'horror' I've ever seen, it's probably number 2. The script is appalling, sfx below the standard of other films from 1981, and the 'plot twists' to keep them from escaping are just silly. It's a no from me. Fail.

The best The Evil Dead has ever looked!
'The Evil Dead' is Sam Raimi's cult horror from 1981, and it has never looked better! The film sees a group of teenagers trying to survive an onslaught of demons and spirits while vacationing in the woods. Even after watching the film at Cannes, acclaimed horror author Stephen King stated that he was "registering things he had never seen in a movie before" Given this film was made on a relatively small budget and shot on 16mm film, it looks amazing in 4K, particularly the forest scenes and the interior shots of the cabin. This is undoubtedly the definitive way to watch this 80's horror classic. A must own for all Evil Dead fans!

Great 4K Transfer of an altered cut
A great 4K transfer of The Evil Dead HOWEVER this version of the film is the edited version. Meaning it's the version where certain crew members appearing in shot, such as Rob Tapert standing beside the bridge in the opening, have been removed using CGI. It seems that every Blu Ray and 4K version of the film contains these changes. With that being seid the 4K transfer of the film looks and sounds great and is easily the best version of the film available for the time being.

The printing on the discs are the wrong way around. The so called 4k disc is 4x3 and the other disc is the 4k version 🤣 Besides that, all good 👍
