All Superlatives apply!

This has been on my watchlist for some time. Yesterday I managed to grab the UHD version and spin Grasslands on my oppo udp-203. The clarity, definition, HDR mastery on these documentaries make all the investment in the format the more worthwhile. Kudos to BBC for this release and a BIG thank you to ZAVVI for your stellar service. Love from Malta.

Great

Great series. Unbelievable picture and sound. The best nature documentary I've ever seen. Can't wait to get blue Blue Plannet 2 as well.

Eyecandy

This was excelent, very high quality animal and nature programming. The picture on the 4k hdr blu-ray was gorgeous, perfect to show off the format. Sir David Attenbourogs commentary was great, sometimes with humor. This is highly recomended!

Pre Release Review

Okay, I don't actually have this 4k Bluray of Planet Earth II yet but I do have Sky Q with Ultra HD 4K and at themoment you can download a 3 minute clip from this remarkable series in full 4K. This has been done to help test the water for a potential BBC iPlayer 4K platform coming in the near future. Now in 1080p this program looked amazing anyway but the step up in quality you get just from this 3 minute clip is jaw dropping. It starts with some slow-mo jungle shots with rainfall and high frame rate clips of insects, jumping frogs ect. The best section though is one of a Jaguar stalking a Capybara. The detail is just incredible and adds a sort of 3D effect without the need for true depth and dodgy plastic glasses. So yes this is not the 4K Bluray but based on this short test clip it shows that this program is going to be awesome on 4K UHD Bluray and will probably be a test disc to show of that lovely 4K HDR TV you've just decide to buy. Get this pre-ordered...I have!
