Good cinematography but some inconsistencies in the storyline

Very well acted- Robert de Niro is especially brilliant but the storyline is not true to the book in places and therefore it cannot be relied upon as a true representation of the novel. Coppola has therefore used his artistic listen to embellish the storyline, making it more sentimental than gothic. If it weren't for the fine acting I would have switched off but the acting makes it better than the film actually is.

Looks fantastic!

It is time for an honest reappraisal of this movie. It was largely panned when it was released but I think it's well done. The acting, set design, and make up effects are first rate. Sony (as always) has done a brilliant job with video and audio, and the special features are interesting.
