In 1974, Stephen King published his first novel, the story of Carrie White, a troubled young girl, bullied by her peers and daughter to a fanatical fundamentalist mother, who discovers she has telekinetic powers. In 1976, it became the first of his works to be adapted for the big screen and, to this day, remains one of the very best.
Carrie marked Brian De Palma's arrival as a major director, following smaller cult films such as Sisters, Phantom of the Paradise and Obsession, and provided a key early role for Sissy Spacek (Badlands), one that would earn her a Best Actress nomination at the Academy Awards®. Piper Laurie would also pick up a nomination as Carrie's mother, while future stars such as Amy Irving, John Travolta and Nancy Allen were given their first major parts in a big-screen production.
Restored in 4K from the original negative, this collector's edition provides the definitive release of a horror classic.

You won't like her when she's angry....
Ah - that's a tag line from a different franchise. No big green meanies here! Just a harassed and targeted high schooler taking revenge on her abusers. Another Stephen King adaptation that's been on my bucket list. This may be from 1976, but it goes to show that even 'back in the day', with the right person steering the ship, you can make a winner. Also a reminder that sequels rarely exceed - or equal - the original. Characters you can get involved with, and cinematography to match. All in glorious 4K! Recommended.Â

Carrie 4k
Can't not recommend this highly enough a true classic horror from the great Stephen King. One of his best adaptations given the 4k treatment. The film has never looked or sounded this good before. A nice set with booklet poster and cards complimented with some good extra features.
