The feature debut of director Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), 1982s Basket Case is a riotous and blood spattered midnight movie experience.
Duane Bradley seems like a pretty ordinary guy. His formerly conjoined twin Belial, on the other hand, is a deformed creature who lives in a wicker basket. Arriving in the Big Apple and taking up a room at a seedy hotel, the pair set about hunting down and butchering the surgeons responsible for their separation.
Filmed on a shoestring budget against the backdrop of 1980s New York (where it played on the midnight movie circuit for over two-and-a-half years), Basket Case has clawed its way from its humble origins to become one of the most celebrated cult movies of all time.

Grind house classic
A much loved low budget movie from the hay day of grind house . Basket Case is a superbly made little horror with all that you demand from such a production , stilted acting , fantastic kills , blood and one of the worst stop motion scenes ever put on film ( Nick Parks has got nothing to worry about ) . But it's weaknesses are also it's strengths , it's exactly what you want from this type of movie. And Arrow have done it again , the picture quality is absolutely stunning for a film of this age and budget , sure it's got film grain but it's nice and even never over powering. It's never looked this good , the image is sharp colours are extremely vibrant when they need to be there's absolutely no digital blocking and the black levels are really well handled all thanks to Dolby Vision. The original mono sound track is crystal clear and the bass isn't to deep . And there's enough extras to keep you going for hours. It's worth every penny
