Oscar nominees Laura Linney (2000, Best Actress, You Can Count On Me) and Tom Wilkinson (2001, Best Actor, In the Bedroom) delve into the supernatural in this thriller based on a true story that will test your resolve, and ultimately your faith.
Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter, White Chicks) was an average teenage girl who was the target of terrifying demonic forces that would ultimately shock a town and torment her soul. But was she, as many believed, possessed? In an attempt to clear the clergyman who exorcised Emily, a skeptical attorney (Linney) awakens to the discovery that powerful spiritual forces may actually exist. This harrowing film unfolds like a recurring nightmare form which there is no waking.

This may be the best exorcism movie since the original Exorcist, if not even all time champion. And it's based on true events. What I mean is everything you see in this film happened for a fact. These unfortunate events took place in Germany when a young girl by the name of Anneliese Michel got possessed by evil spirits. Movie is just perfect in every way, sound, acting, effects, and camera, just everything is done great. It starts kinda slow, but eventually picks up the pace. Unfortunately I have to give this one 4 stars, based on a fact that all of the extras are stripped off the disc, except chapter select and the movie itself there is nothing there. However, the movie certainly makes up for that, it an awesome horror flick, so shut off your lights, crank up the volume and be prepared for a scary yet true story. Recommended!
