Session Mode allows the player to lead an artificially intelligent band that plays along with them. The virtual band (which can be customized according the player's choice of metronome and instruments - there are 70 different Session Mode instruments!) reacts to their playing dynamically. It's a more advanced feature, but Rocksmith 2014 Edition has missions to guide the player through it if they are a beginner. Experts can jump right in and play along the entire guitar neck by zooming out.
Session Mode is also available in Multiplayer mode, so two players can Jam side-by-side and create their own band experience.
Session Mode can also be played with any electric instrument with a ¼' jack, e.g. an electric ukulele or violin, however, it's not officially supported and you wouldn't see any special interface or guide. Still, the band will dynamically react to the music you play.

Rocksmith 2014
I've always loved the sound of the electric guitar and bands like Queen, Dire Straits,AC/DC and people like Gary Moore, Joe Satrianni, Brian May and Steve Vai. I tried guitar hero and though it was good at the time, it still felt like I was cheating. I bought a teach yourself guitar course and an electric guitar and guess what ? - absolutely nothing !, It never got used as I hate reading books, so away it went. I never bothered with the original rocksmith but I saw rocksmith 2014 and just knew I had to try it. My partner got me it with the guitar included for Christmas 2013, it's march 2014 and I haven't stopped playing it !, it's a brilliant learning tool, it won't teach you everything but it gives it a very, very good try and it won't leave you looking for much information. I simply can't recommend rocksmith 2014 enough !, it's for young and old, play at your own pace and if you get stuck on anything, there's mini games to help you get it right and yet still be fun, and you learn without realising it !. There's plenty of songs to learn on the disc and many more as DLC, and you can try any of them although my personal way of learning is to do ALL the lessons first and keep doing them till I get them to 100% and I move on to the next lesson, and if I get stuck, I do the corresponding mini game to help me get it right. I hope this review helps you decide wether or not to buy this title, I would recommend it 100% for any budding guitar player, and if you can already play, then you should check out the session mode !, it's your own personal band !!, and although it's a bit advanced for me at the moment, I can still use it to practice scales and chords and even sound decent ! - An amazing feat in its self. Simply give it a go - I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed.
