Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection brings you this exclusive box set that contains three of the most popular games from the Metal Gear Solid legacy; one of the most important game series of all time, all in perfectly remastered HD quality. These three games are Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, allowing you to experience the games from past to present. An extra special part of this box set is that for the first time ever, Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker is available on a console other than the PSP.
This incredible game series is the work of the renowned director and game creator Hideo Kojima, who is a figurehead for pioneering the stealth action genre in games. The Metal Gear Solid saga is noted for the innovative storyline and game play, with the protagonist being an elite secret agent from a special forces unit, who you must guide through enemy territory during tense solo missions. Explore vast terrain and enemy base camps, hone your skills to sneak past the enemy undetected, alone and without any support from your comrades, whilst your life is constantly on the line.
Metal Gear Solid: 2
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty was originally released in 2001 for the Playstation 2. The game is set two years after the events of Shadow Moses, with Solid Snake and Octacon as part of Philanthropy; an anti-metal gear non-governmental organisation that they founded. They receive word that incredibly sensitive technological information has been leaked on to the black market regarding the walking nuclear-armed Metal Gear unit, and that a prototype is being transported through the Hudson River. However, this is a trap set by high-tech Special Forces Unit FOXHOUND (the US Army's elite black ops unit that was established by Big Boss) member Ocelot and his Russian mercenaries, who seize the tanker. The plan goes awry, and the tanker sinks to the bottom of the Hudson River, and Solid Snake is believed to have gone down with it. Two years later and The Big Shell, an oil clean up facility set up on the bay of the river, has been taken over by a terrorist group calling themselves the Sons Of Liberty, with their leader claiming to be Solid Snake. Raiden, a new FOXHOUND recruit, is sent to infiltrate the Big Shell and neutralise the threat, yet it becomes clear he has fallen into an incredibly well spun web of deception.
Metal Gear Solid: 3
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was originally released in 2005 for the Playstation 2. The game is set in 1964 in the midst of the Cold War. Special agent Naked Snake is sent to Soviet territory on a mission to help a scientist, Sokolov, switch sides to the West. The mission is sabotaged by The Boss, a female soldier otherwise known as the Mother Of Special Forces, who is America's greatest agent and Snake's mentor. The Boss betrays her country when she defects to the Soviet Union, giving them a miniature nuclear warhead which they then launch at a Russian research facility. Meanwhile, an extremist by the name of Colonel Volgin launches an American made missile at the Soviet design bureau, causing an international incident that seems to be leading in to the third World War. In order for America to prove her innocence, Naked Snake is assigned a mission by special forces unit FOX... the mission being to assassinate The Boss.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker was originally released in 2010 for the PSP, revolutionising hand held gaming. This game tells the tale of a legendary soldier called Naked Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss, during the 1970s, and the truth behind his story in signature third person game play. The game begins after the events that occurred during Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It's 1974, and Snake has killed his treacherous mentor the Boss, left the United States, and founded Militaires Sans Frontieres (soldiers without borders), which takes on the cases and missions of those who need their help. A certain case finds its way to Big Boss showing that the CIA have invaded Costa Rica, a country without a military to defend them, and that his mentor the Boss may still be alive. Needless to say he takes the case, in order to both stop a Metal Gear from launching nuclear missiles and devastating the world, as well as answer all the questions raised in the aftermath of Snake Eater. As always, your stealth is your greatest weapon. (Cat Emerson)

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Except some changes due to a different system the MGS games feels exactly how they used to feel in the ps2 era. If you are a fan of mgs games and want to play in 16:9 the same fun you had in 4:3 back then, this is a must have. However Kojima could include the MGS 2 Substance feature with the games since is the only way to play soldi snake in the Big Shell on the 2nd chapter of the saga.

A true classic
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a true classic game from the previous generation. Worth buying cause you can play it with a hd resolution on your plasma/lcd screen so it won't burn your eyes plus those games are just magical.

Classic
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was the reason I bought an Xbox 360. It has an excellent story, with cut scenes (excellent) to complement the previous Metal gears. It also has great gameplay, great sound effects and graphics. It's a master piece and a classic that all owners of an Xbox 360 should have. If you buy this you will be very happy with the game. Now do yourself a favour, buy this game now!

Perfect
I had my doubts about buying Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, since I haven't played any Metal Gear games before. But I read a little about the story, talked to some friends and decided to go for it and I was amazed by the games. I could pay this price for Metal Gear Solid 3 by itself... They're all amazing! It's a must buy for sure!

Excellent
Loved playing these games on my PS and Playstation 2, was excited when I heard about the HD collection and even more so that it was released on the 360. Must buy for any fan especially if they never had the chance to play Peace Walker like myself, which is actually quite good. Also the original games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are included on the MGS3 side of the game for anyone who wants to experience the originals.

Good Game - Worth The Price
Bought this just to play Peace Walker, and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it is. With the next installment of Metal Gear around this is definitely worth a go (if you're a fan of the others) as I think some of the characters are returning in Ground Zero. Of course, along with Peace Walker you also get Sons Of Liberty and Snake Eater - Which is Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 respectively - Which have both been given a HD make over, don't expect miracles with these previous gen games, but they do look nicer. Overall, I say if you're thinking about grabbing these, do so.

MGS HD Collection
Didn't get the chance to play these games when I was younger, and didn't have a PSP to play Peace Walker. Highly addictive, very tough games. They don't make them like this anymore!
