L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition

I don't usually like rockstar's games, but this one is a different from the other ones, and that's pretty cool!

LA Noire

If you fancy a change to games that always involve massive shoot outs or if you want a game that tests your brain a little bit then get this. I've even sat with my mate and we've played through some levels together

L.A Noire: The Complete Edition

I personally feel that this game is a fantastic step forward in a lot of ways, mainly the facial recognition features which require you to observe body language and the way people look at you when questioning them. This amount of detail to facial features means that the dialogue is always synced with the mouth movements, and facial expressions are also seen when not in an interrogation, but just walking or driving around. Although the graphics aren't jaw-droppingly fantastic, the amount of detail around the entire city is markedly better than a lot of games that are coming out right now. The game has a good solid story with a few repetitive cases, but on a sense of pure realism, it fits in completely, especially with the Homicide cases. Also the idea of levelling up through various branches of crime investigation quite intriguing, although personally I would prefer there to be more cases for some of the departments than others (which the added DLC helps with). Finally, the dispatch mission you can do while moving to locations add another level of realism as you are a cop, and there are crimes occurring constantly all over the place. Not only that, but it helps break up the monotony of go to location, look for evidence, move to new location, ask questions, arrest suspect get confession, repeat. All in all, a stellar, well worth it game.

Dark, adult, mature adventure

L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition has a lot in common with the old point-and-click adventure games than open-world games. The highlight are the characters and their characterisation, but also the setting and historical context are amazing! It's a masterpiece not to be missed!

A true pearl

Every once in a while a game comes by that you think will be good but totally blows your mind when you put in the disc. L.A. Noire is one of those games. The way the game works and feels really makes you feel like you're in the game, not just playing a game. The soundtrack really helps to drag you into the game. The whole ambience drags you into the 1940's mood and wants to you start playing this game in a leather chair wearing a tuxedo and smoking a cigar.

L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition

A few hours in, and I'm falling in love with L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition. First, I'd like to say that the facial expressions due to the MotionScan tech are spot on. Interviews are interesting and you feel like a true detective when you get someone to admit they're hiding something. Aside from the interviews, the animations during the in-game cutscenes are amazing, and honestly unlike anything I've seen. The game play is great from the shootouts to the driving. Clue collecting before interrogations feels rewarding, and for those who have played a GTA/RDR, the controls will feel right at home. The story is compelling so far, along with the back story and other bits of info you find along the way. It really makes me look forward to seeing how everything comes together when I make a dent in the game. I can't wait to sink more hours into it, but this will definitely be a game I fall in love with.

Excellent

L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition is a great story, set in a unusual time. If you want to play a game slightly different to anything out there, this is it. It features gun battles and crime solving, set within a living, breathing city. It has good controls and believable characters and set pieces. You can even grill suspects. Look out for tell tale signs of facial expressions and clues as you get to the bottom of all the crimes. You are crime fighters, and with persistence you will get results. It will take a fair deal of time to complete, but that's value for money.
