Follow-up to BioShock, 2K Games' critically acclaimed and commercially successful 2007 release, BioShock 2 is a first-person shooter set in the fictional underwater city of Rapture. As in the original game, BioShock 2 features a blend of fast-paced action, exploration and puzzle-solving as players follow varying paths through the overarching storyline based on the decisions that they are forced to make at various points in the game. In addition to a further fleshing out of the franchise's popular storyline, players can look forward to new characters, game mechanics, weapons, locations and a series first, multiplayer game options.
Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster — somehow familiar, yet still quite different from anything ever seen — has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city. It is a Big Sister, new denizens of Rapture who were once one of the forgotten little girls known as Little Sisters, known to inhabit the city's dank halls. No longer a pawn used to harvest ADAM, the dangerously powerful gene-altering lifeblood of Rapture, from the bodies of others and in turn run the risk of being harvested herself, the Big Sister is now the fastest and most powerful thing in Rapture. You, on the other hand are the very first Big Daddy, in fact the prototype, that for some reason has reactivated. You are similar to the Big Daddies familiar from the original BioShock, but also very different in that you possess free will and no memory of the events of the past ten years. The question is, as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city beneath the waves, hunting for answers and the solution to your own survival, are you really the hunter, or the hunted?
Features:
- Evolution of the Genetically Enhanced Shooter: Innovative advances bring new depth and dimension to each encounter.
- New elements, such as the ability to dual-wield weapons and Plasmids, allow players to create exciting combinations of punishment
- Return to Rapture: Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the story continues with an epic, more intense journey through one of the most captivating and terrifying fictional worlds ever created
- You Are the Big Daddy: Take control of BioShock’s signature and iconic symbol with the original prototype Big Daddy, and experience the power and raw strength of Rapture’s most feared denizens as you battle powerful new enemies
- Continuation of the Award-Winning Narrative: New and unique storytelling devices serve as the vehicle for the continuation of one of gaming’s most acclaimed storylines
- Genetically Enhanced Multiplayer – Earn experience points during gameplay to earn access to new Weapons, Plasmids and Tonics that can be used to create hundreds of different combinations, allowing players to develop a unique character that caters to their playing style.
- Experience Rapture’s Civil War– Players will step into the shoes of Rapture citizens and take direct part in the civil war that tore Rapture apart.
- See Rapture Before the Fall – Experience Rapture before it was reclaimed by the ocean and engage in combat over iconic environments in locations such as Kashmir Restaurant and Mercury Suites, all of which have been reworked from the ground up for multiplayer.
- FPS Veterans Add Their Touch to the Multiplayer Experience – Digital Extremes brings more than 10 years of first person shooter experience including development of award-winning entries in the Unreal and Unreal Tournament franchise.

Good Game
Bioshock 1 was one of my favorite games. so I decided to get Bioshock 2. Bioshock 2 is a good game I enjoyed the single-player mode and online play is also fun. Bioshock 1 is still a lot better and therefore I give this game a rating of 3.

Reviewing Rapture!
Bioshock 2 features very original gameplay and multiple ending stories on an underwater world with great graphics/scenarios. It combines "superpowers" with weapons. The game is not repetitive and it is great fun to play. I have no doubt in saying that it is one of the best games on the PS3.

Bioshocked 2
I am fairly new to PS3 gaming and this was one of my first purchases. I consider this to be a must have for all FPS fans. Play it on a dark room, with good speakers/headphones and good screen and you'll be constantly jumping out of your seat. The graphics are amazing and very suited to the theme, gameplay is excelent and the sounds are just the cherry on top of the cake. It's one of those don't blink or you'll end up dead games. Now I just need to buy the first Bioshock and all the others after this one... when they come.

very entertaining
Its a very good sequel. Is not as good as the first part but there is a lot of action and its settled 10 years after the first part. Very good graphics and its quite long with a good multiplayer.

Great game
Truly an inspiring sequel. It delivers more action than the original , with the appropriate dose of awesomeness. The characters and setting are recognizable from the original , so , if you liked the original you'll also like this . Strongly reccomend it. Also , it would be best if you use FragX with this one. I know i will! :)

A sequel that doesn't disappoint
Presumably anyone reading this will have played Bioshock 1 which is an incredible game all round, and I can safely say (speaking as a massive fan of the 1st instalment) that Bioshock 2 lives up to the reputation of the original. The story is as immersive as ever, drawing you in right from the go. This was the most important thing to me and plenty of other people, the incredible story remains intact and isn't ruined by the typical nature of sequels. Combat's been improved and runs smoother. "Hacking" now fits in with gameplay, allowing the game to be more frantic as it no longer pauses whilst you work. Instead of the previous game's system where the game felt as though it had come to a juddering halt whenever you hacked something by way of (essentially) a pause screen, now you're expected to do the job whilst moving & fighting, making it all far more exciting. The bad points are that the physics engine hasn't been updated and that does show sometimes when objects glitch, but nothing major. It also assumes that you're a fan of the 1st game and so nothing is explained, which is great for myself and 90% of people, but it is unfriendly to new comers. Some people see linearity of a game being a bad thing so I thought I'd mention it (even though I personally think that it's actually better than becoming yet another open world game). Finally, multiplayer has been added, which is in essence terrible. The only joy that can be had is the "lobby" before you enter a game which is done in a unique way that makes you want to just stay there for a couple of minutes. All in all Bioshock 2 is brilliant and a worthy successor to 1 by staying true to the style and story that made its predecessor the best game I've personally ever played.

Best Of The Year?
Yeah, I wasn't expecting this to be better than the first one, but hell yeah, it was. The first one got kind of boring halfway through, this one was a roller coaster all the way. I loved every second of it!

Bio Shock ingly Good !
Being a massive fan of the original i like many others can barely stand the wait until 09/02/2010. I down loaded the demo which allows you to play the beginning of the game and the early portions of the under water city of rapture. The story starts in 1960, you're flying over the Atlantic Ocean. The plane mysteriously crashes and your left floating in the water, alone the only survivor, or are you ? You swim over to a tiny island where you discover a small submersible called a bathysphere. This is what takes you to the breathtaking and secret underwater city of Rapture and so the game begins. The graphics are incredible on the demo I can hardly wait to see them on my ps3, The audio is equally impressive. Ive read the story, watched and played the demo's. There seems to be plenty of weapons to pic up which helps with a good shoot em up but apparently the character customization is the key trait in BioShock. All that said bring it on, its going to be the game of the year !
