It's the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead...and that's before things really get ugly. It's a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It's a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.
As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you'll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare "winner takes all" and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.
- Feel the Heat in New Vegas! Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands - from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
- Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles! A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
- New Systems! Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase "up close and personal". Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.
- An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns! With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you'll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.
- Let it Ride! In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it's all in how you play the game.

New Fallout in Vegas
Fallout New Vegas is one of pleasant attempts to show us, how the post-apocalyptic world would look like. Devastated, almost empty of life. Dangerous. But as in the whole Fallout RPG series, the goal is not education, but fun. The player creates a character and builds it by gaining experience, which is quite motivating. (The drawback is the level cap - 30. After it it's almost impossible to change the "fallout ego".) He meets many interesting folks, visits A LOT of places (The number of discoverable locations is very high and they cover the map more evenly compared to Fallout 3.) and kills countless creatures. FNV brings a few changes into gameplay like companion wheel, which makes the interaction with active companions easier, the optional Hardcore mode, which forces player to sleep, eat and drink on a regular basis and be more cautious in combat, new set of skills, traits and perks and so on. The story is interesting while playing game for the first time and it can't be called boring after second or another start of it. It has a subtle, new element in itself. In previous Fallout games the player can be really good. Battling the slavers, riders, mutants, missled government and all the forces, that want to destroy innocents. Fallout New Vegas is less idealistic and more similar to the real world. Nothing here is black or white only. In order to get to any of the endings, one has to fight against forces in the Wasteland, that can be considered as "good". And none of the endings brings the ideal solution for the place. However, this is, what New Vegas offers you. It is a bit changed Fallout, but it is maybe closer to the experience of war...war, that never changes.

Quite good RPG
Fallout New Vegas gives you many, many hours of game play. It has hundreds of characters and vast areas to be explored. Fallout New Vegas' also has new mechanics which are much different to Fallout 3's. Now there is finally Iron Sight scopes on your weapons, Karma has been replaced by reputation with factions and the graphics have been greatly enhanced! You can choose your own path in the game, giving you pretty much all the choice on how to play. The DLC that is available is quite poor, but I hope this improves soon. Highly recommended at this great price from Zavvi!

Vegas
I have been a fan of the fallout series for a long time now...and I can safely say that Fallout: New Vegas does not disappoint. Featuring a massive open world environment with countless side quests and areas to explore it will provide hours of entertainment that will keep you coming back for more. Best of all the story line is amazing and has so many different paths and all the different combinations of perks and abilities ensure that that game has maximum replay value. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it twice, after having it for the 360 (of which I sunk over 100 hours of play time over the last 8 months or so) I now have it on the PC. It really is a game of great value packed with content well worth the money.

Immersion comes at a price
This is one of those games that when it grabs you all you can do is say goodbye to friends and slepp. parts of it will start working thair way into real life to the point where you start hoarding bottles of water in case you need it later.. despite living in England. Its a great game to immerse yourself in and the Hardcore mode really ups the tension making this game far more like the original fallout games. The storyline is far less compelling than the last game and the graphics are pretty poor by 2011 standards but that said there are enough quests and features to keep you entertained for months forging your own legend in the wastes

Fallout Review
Fallout New Vegas is one of the best first player game. Different weapons, different places and different people than Fallout 3. Meet new people on the way through the game, kill zombies, creatures and people while you battle to survive. This is one of the best games of it times, and it is brill to play and waist a couple hours. Buy Now and you will love it!!!!

hmmm.
Now I am a girl, So I don't play on these sort of games. But I have watched it from a "girlfriends" point of view and I see it a quite interesting actually! With wondering what is going to happen next, It sort of gives me a "on the edge of my seat" sort of nerve. But that might be just because I'm a girl...
