A Defining Video Game

Borderlands is an epic video game franchise, with the first instalment releasing in 2009. The series has since experienced monumental success and earned itself a huge fanbase, as well as introducing several highly successful spinoff and sequel games.

Borderlands is set far into the future, in a time where large corporations battle for control over various planets in order to exploit them for their raw materials.

The gameplay focuses on a group of ‘Vault Hunters’ who journey to the distant planet of Pandora to secure an alien Vault that is rumoured to contain a great deal of advanced, innovative, alien technology.

Vault Hunters

The original group of Vault Hunters includes Lilith the Siren, Mordecai the Hunter, Brick the Berserker, and Roland the Soldier. Lilith the Siren is a woman boasting powerful alien abilities, Mordecai the Hunter is a skilled marksman, Brick the Berserker is an expert in explosive weaponry, and Roland the Soldier is a highly trained private military operative.

The group must ultimately prevent the head of a private corporation army from obtaining the advanced alien technology before they can.
