Garret returns

Concept of the latest Thief is pretty much the same as in previous games. However, the game does feel to be tailored for a wider audience. It is not a necessarily bad decision but for those who played the previous 3 titles it could be a bit disappointing. If you haven't played any of the previous Thief games then you will get a game which is fun and interesting. Stealing is satisfactory, stealth is great and the locations are excellent. I can't comment on the story line as I am only at the beginning of the game. The biggest let down is the missing voice acting by Stephen Russell.

Thief strike back

The return of the thief. this title on PS4 offers many hours of fun stealth only then is shown especially to an audience that prefers to operate in the shadows and not to fight directly. Graphically the game is excellent and the dark atmosphere also affect some play of light and shadows. Recommended to all lovers of the old saga of the thief.

All I wanted from Thief

After half of year of not using my PS4 (just wanted to clean up my Xbox 360 games before moving to current-gen) I finally decided that the first game from my small PS4 collection (thanks, Zavvi) would be Thief. I pre-ordered it some time ago since I was a real fan of the first game in 1998 (God I'm old) and I must say I like it very much, but there are a few drawbacks, but to be honest I can only name GTA V as perfect game in my recent memory. Anyway, getting t Thief. First of all, I'm approaching it as anyone should - pure stealth. That means no alarms and no kills. This game has it all for any stealth loving player. Secondly, the graphics is very nice. Maybe not on par with best looking PS4 games, but Unreal Engine 3 shows its age and the game was also released on previous gen consoles, so its kind of expected developers had some limits. But it looks nice - especially various materials (like metal), hair/fur and some particle effects (water drops and so on). Thirdly, it's quite long and there is plenty stuff to do. I can speak about its strong points quite long, but let's get to some weaknesses. The biggest one is, in my opinion, travelling. Not because the game loads quite often when you walk from one part of the city to another all the time - mainly because it takes time and feels boring to go through same sections again and again seeing same enemies there walking using same paths. Developers should have made quick travelling option for people like me - I looted most of city buildings, so travelling became pointless. Second drawback in my opinion is one part of level design - how loot is placed. You can deactivate a trap, climb a rope, get inside a room and loot it finding 2 forks. But, you can find big amount of coins somewhere in the garbage on one of the streets populated with homeless people. Come on, really? If that is based on real life, I would go and start digging in the garbage after leaving the office. The problem it causes is that there isn't much logic to follow if you want to gain money to spend on whatever - you just start looking in each corner instead of thinking there should logically be your fortune. Other drawbacks are too minor to mention. All in all this game is around 4.4 points, but since it's closer to 4 than to 5 - this is my score. Highly recommended to anyone - especially current-gen console owners.

Thief

Even if I haven't played so much with this game so far, my satisfaction is very high. In other hand the graphic of the game amazed me.

Great return for the thief

This reboot of the series "The Thief" is a really good game. The atmosphere of the city is the thing that impresses more than any other. The gameplay is simple but well constructed so it is perfect for anyone who is a novice player or a player looking for trouble. Graphically it is great although I would have expected more care in particle effects but to be one of the first games on the PS4 is a beautiful sight for eyes. Recommended for mature audiences for topics and scenes.

This really is a steal !!

This game (Thief) was a great price, it's a fantastic game that has loads to get involved in ( strategy, puzzle solving etc) rather than the usual "shoot em up". would highly recommend.

Stealing a few extra points!

After hearing all the average and disappointing reviews from the established press I wasn't expecting much from this game. If there was more choice of games for my newly un boxed PS4 & thief wasn't on sale, then I may have never tried it. At this point I have only played a few hours worth of the game, but am pleasently surprised. Don't get me wrong, Theif is no Golden Joystick winner, but still it is present to play & fulfils my urges to collect things in games, through an easy, no fuss, illgoten gains to cash, instant reward system. See an ornate candlestick you've taken a fancy to through an open first floor window? Then just climb in, blow out the candle lighting the room, and swipe it from the bedside cabinet. It instantly turns into cash, so no painfull finite inventory to juggle or lengthy tuing and throughing to and from the local fence.
