Since 1969 Eric Carle's classic pre-schooler's book 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' has held generation after generation of youngsters spellbound, and The Illuminated Film Company's animated adaptation has fared no different after making its DVD debut back in 2006. Since our successful 40th Anniversary re-promotion in 2009 the DVD has now more than doubled its sell-through tally to over 100,000 units sold in the UK alone and we can expect a similar uplift in sales this year.
March 2014 sees the 45th Anniversary of the first publication of Carle's perennial best-seller and - to celebrate - Best Medicine is releasing a fully re-mastered DVD version of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Stories' in advance of international Very Hungry Caterpillar Day on Thursday March 20th.
Featuring 5 of Eric Carle's captivating children's tales - with animations based on Carle's original 'collage art' illustrations - the title will be re-issued on Monday March 3rd in an exclusive limited-edition spot gloss die-cut 45th Anniversary slip-case.
