Fantastic Film
As a fan of the original Karate Kid movie franchise I was a little sceptical about this movie when I first heard it was going to be released. How wrong I was. The Karate Kid (2010) is kind of a re-imagined version of the original 1984 classic, with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan in the key roles. The movie has a terrific plot with alot of heart and the kung fu elements are also very impressive. Both Smith and Chan give great performances. In fact, Jaden Smith's performance as Dre Parker is so well crafted that it is hard to imagine any other young actor succeeding in the role. Overall, this is a great movie which, in my opinion, does its predecessors proud.

Wonderful
One of my favourite films ever. The scenery is amazing, the acting fantastic and it's a real feel-good film! Young Jaden Smith really shines, his acting is solid and he is totally believeable in the role. Definitely one to add to your Christmas list!

No wax on, wax off but worth a look
Having grown up watching the original Karate Kid films i wasn't sure how good a remake would be. There are parallels with the original although there is no wax on, wax off which is really memorable from the first film. Its not as good as the original but it was a tough act to follow. This is a nice film and Jaden Smith does a good job as the young boy being bullied. Its worth a watch for the kick at the end.

WOW
As huge original Karate Kid fans, me and my boyfriend were not sure if we were going to like the new jazzed up version but it was BRILLIANT. Definitely 10/10 I shall be buying it for him for Christmas, we took a seven year old who before hand claimed he 'didn't like karate or kids and wasn't going to enjoy it!' but he happily sat through the whole thing, not a peep and then at the end exclaimed " that was the best film EVER!!"

karate kidding
a totally alien world. He gets on the wrong side of the local bully and Kung Fu expert largely due to his friendship with a girl classmate.Seeking help from janitor,Chan,it's no surprise that he overcomes the hardships presented to him and wins the hand of the fair maiden, while Chan's character finds redemption in his role as the wise teacher. This is amovie which confirms Jackie Chans status as a masterful kung fu star as well as a surprisingly good actor.Lots of great action from both major protagonists and comedy through the fantastically staged stunts. Good fun for the younger generation with the downside that Smith's character is really rather unlikeable as a wisecracking American smartass. Why Dre should be attending a local school when he'sclearly the son of a member of the diplomatic staff is also unclear. Fine as a stocking filler though with a probable heartthrob for young girls in Jaden Smith.
