Odds against you......
The quintessential 4-series set of the iconic Equalizer never disappoints. From the opening episode through to the very last, this series explores the depths of american predilections, violence and iniquity in fine detail against a background of ground-breaking imagery and one of the most striking musical scores in TV history. Edward Woodward presents a figure of a man who believes he has done what 'The Prisoner' (Patrick McGoohan) could not - RESIGN from the Agency (be it CIA, NSA, MI6 or whatever) and do it on his terms. That belief though is different from the reality he has to live in where he is regarded by his peers as a 'rogue operator' with secrets that cannot be allowed to surface. 'Control' in the form of Robert Lansing provides a neat counterpoint in terms of McCall's attempts at 'freedom' from the very things he despises most. However he has his friends and supporters, some from his previous life and others he has made along the way. These assist him in completing the 'troubles' others have that he takes on as his own. I recommend this set as one of the best purchases you could make for your DVD collection.
