When NBA superstar LeBron James made the decision in 2010 to leave his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to join the Miami Heat, it was such a significant moment that it was broadcast live to over 10 million viewers.
In joining Miami's prolific scorer Dwyane Wade and new signing Chris Bosh, LeBron James had sent out a warning shot to the rest of the league: a new dynasty was being forged. James' first season in Miami would ultimately end in disappointment, beaten in the NBA Finals by the unfancied Dallas Mavericks, but a year later the Heat won their first Championship of the LeBron era, defeating the Oklahoma Thunder. The Heat had answered their critics and proved themselves to be worthy of the title, but could they do it all again? The 2012-13 season would see the new champions tested to the fullest, yet it would also bring out the very best in them.
