When we first meet New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Miller (Richard Gere), he appears the very portrait of success in American business and family life. However, behind the gilded walls of his mansion, Miller is in over his head, desperately trying to conceal an affair with artist Julie Cote (Laetitia Casta) whilst racing to complete the sale of his empire before his fraudulent dealings can be revealed. When a tragic accident complicates things further, attracting the unwanted attention of tenacious NYPD detective Michael Bryer (Roth), Miller finds himself battling not just for his reputation but also his life. Arbitrage
Good plot and high profile actors but just lacked detail and substance. A high flying well established Finance Broker gets into difficulties over a bad deal and needs to cover up the losses whilst trying to sell his business. He is a ruthless self centred Guy (Richard Gere) who thinks everyone should be gratefull to him, including his wife, daughters and lover. A tragic car crash sets off events which involve the police and cover ups and can bring him down. As i say just lacked the finer detail in places that I would have liked to have seen rather than just having to second guess and assume things which would have then made it on a par with 'Wall Street'
