Nikita kicks butt

I had watched the classic Luc Beeson thriller 'Nikita' several years ago and I found it both exciting and harrowing. A drug addict basically kidnapped by a French government black ops agency and trained as an assassin. Jeanne Moreau starred in the original and this movie brought Beeson to the attention of the world. When I heard that it had been remade in America I decided to give it some distance because my rule of thumb is 'if it works, why change it'. It was only after a huge advertising campaign on Sky about the forthcoming third season that I though I would acquire Nikita - Season 1 just to 'dip my toe' in the Nikita pool. The original pilot didn't light my fire but the sheer skill of Maggie Q as the main character that has escaped the grasp of 'Division' as wants to get revenge on those who stole her life and killed her boyfriend. She doesn't do this alone - she, herself, rescues a drug addict, Alex, trains her in secret and then lets her infiltrate Division so that she can spy on them from the inside. Nikita is harassed all the way by her former colleague Michael who still carries a torch for the former assassin. Twenty-two action packed episodes spread over four discs that hook you from the first episode and keep you addicted until the very end. I was so impressed with this series that I have bought the original French movie and the second series of the American remake. It's well worth a look if you're an action fan.

Great Show

This is a great show, some very good actors, good for any action drama fans. Bought as a gift so I cant comment on the quality of the Blu-Ray itself.

Nikita - Season 1 is a great series. I missed the series on Sky but I'm really enjoying it now, and I would thoroughly recommended it. It's particularly clever the way you are gradually introduced to the history of the main characters. Very good viewing, especially when there is nothing else to watch on the box!

Excellent Value

I bought this mainly because it was offered at an excellent price, especially for Blu-Ray. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Other than the episodes starting with a summary, for those catching the series in the middle. It is full of good action and nice twists. There are times when you have to disengage the brain and enjoy the action, but overall good value for the money.

Keeping you thinking all the way

Nikita Season 1 is a great series. It brings you back to a classic and actually makes a decent job of it. From start to finish you are living the action and turmoil that occurs. Well worth the 4 stars and season 2 is looking just as good at the moment too.

Nikita - Season 1

Maggie Q is superb as Nikita, the ex-spy who's out to destroy the 'Division' that made her. Nikita was an utter surprise to me. I rented it on a whim and it blew me away with it's clever script that keeps you guessing and it's brilliant acting that made me truly care about the characters. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an engaging, edge of your seat experience.
