In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium - but that doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. A Decent Second Outing
Following 2009's super low budget but Excellent "District 9", Director Neill Blomkamp gets back on writing duties and returns to the director's chair for "Elysium" With 4 times the budget and 10 times the star power, Blomkamp proves that he is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to bleak, politically fueled Sci-Fi. The mid-22nd century is a horrible time. The earth is in ruins, populated only by those not wealthy enough to be able to live on the man made space station Elysium and as such, is a crime filled, planet sized ghetto. With a stroke of bad luck that leaves Max (Matt Damon) on limited time and desperate for access to the facilities on Elysium, he undertakes a dangerous mission that could not only be his salvation, but could bring chaos and disorder to the delicate balance that keeps the poor on earth, bringing equality with it. As you would expect from a film "mastered in 4K", it looks and sounds incredible. while not as good as district 9, the film is excellent and is definitely done justice my the superb visual quality and the amazing audio. Special features are decent, with a great insight into the production of the film and it's inspirations. A must for any sci-fi fan

why 4K Edition
I don´t understand the 4K-Edition. The picture is 99% the same normal Bluray-Picture, but the price is higher. The movie-story is ok, not a surprise, but ok. The sound was excelent. But only the orig. english sound. The german mix is only ok. The Metall-Cover is beautiful. The shipment from zavvi was excelent and fast.

Elysium! Best mastered in 4k steelbook!!
This is by far the best mastered in 4k film I have ever seen. The picture and audio quality is life changing! As an added bonus the steelbook is a great print. Love it!

Not bad, good effects.
I bought this because i never seen the movie in the cinema and my friends seemed to like it. It is a good film with good effects but i a little gory for my tastes. I do love sci-fi movies and well worth a watch and if it was toned down with gore, it would have 5 stars.
