Pan's Labyrinth (2006): the story of a young girl that travels with her mother and adoptive father to a rural area up North in Spain, 1944 - after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

IF you thought Hellboy was good...
....Then this is must buy as Guillermo Del Toro's directing prowess shines brighly amongst these three dark but wonderful tales. They may look strange and uncomforting to the casual viewer who may look at the boxcover , or read the brief descriptions on this site. But prepared to be drawn in and immersed by the warmth, humanity, and overall charm of the characters in these outstanding titles, where reality meets the unusual mind of Del Toro, in a way that cannot be truly described until you watch these.
