A fictional film set in the seductive world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock the United States, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning British partner and lover Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild unhinged FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper).

American Hustle
If ever a film deserved a genre title of "fun", this would be a pretty high contender. This being partially because nothing really exists to describe what this film fully is. From the outset, when the film states that some of this actually happened, it's pretty clear its not a film to be taken entirely seriously. Even the normally tightly wound Christian Bale appears to have a lighter side in this film. The basic upshot is a conman and his ambitious partner are caught then used by the FBI to try and snag some pretty big players taking bribes and connections to the mafia. Apparently, some of this is actually true. What is for sure, however, is a stellar cast of Bale, Adams, Renner, Cooper (and a surprisingly excellent Lawrence)really engross themselves in their roles and a very worthy cameo make this a very enjoyable experience.
